I CARE 2010 Bengaluru....

21st Oct 2010, i boarded an indigo flight to bengaluru..my first single research presentation was just few hours away..did'nt know how it would be..anxiety and nervousness striking together as the plane was taxing down the old runway of the Indira Gandhi International Airport...Finally hit the skies at around 3.35pm in the noon..and amidst frequent turbulences I could witness the beauty of the skies at around 37000 feet above sea level..Flying above bhopal and hyderabad, as the sun was going down, they beauty of the evening skies was clearly visible..as the plane entered b'lore skies..hovering around for a while..We hit the run way of BIAL at around 6.30 in the evening..it was just a beautiful weather waiting to welcome us at bangalore..Checking out..i boarded a bus to the city..which was around 45 km from the airport...The picture of india premier IT city can be easily visible from the Airport's Entrance as the big YAHOO! logo greets every to-fro passengers.
I reach Rishav's place at around 8.15pm in the evening..exhausted after the 3 hour flight...

Now it was the D day..22nd Oct. 2010 i was waiting for my 1st research paper presentation..as i had prepared myself for that day before hand..reached Manyata Tech Park..a huge IT park spreading acres of area..where shuttles run from its entrance gates...Alcatel Lucent, Phillips, Nokia-Siemens, and mainly IBM offices constitutes the maximum area of the Tech park..i hit the IBM floors around 9.oo am. The main co-ordinator Raj Sharma from Delhi was waiting for us, i knew him from 2009 ICARE..
After the registration was over, i went to the talk sessions, Dr. Manish Gupta Director, IBM Research, India was speaking.. After the talk i was checking out which tracks to attend as per the agenda given..
I attended Track 4 "Distributed, High-Performance, Network & Cyber-physical Systems"..it started with Dr. Amarjeet Singh talk on energy efficiency...there was another guy who was speaking more on US type of energy conversion, rather he was comparing that US prepares huge amount and in comparison India's production level is low...i personally felt that he was just praising US and trying to insult India on a public platform...i dont know where IBM says lets make a smarter planet..then its better to talk less and work more...rather than showing the disadvantages of our eco-system it was better to give solutions towards making smarter cities...because these words need to be sent and it should reach the proper authorities..where in organizing a CWG.. Rs.77,000 crores were spent..with how much money was siphoned from one corrupt official to another...the over bridge near the national stadium was built with a whooping cost of Rs 5 Cr. and it collapsed days before the event..and the later was built again by Indian Army in just Rs. 5 lakhs...so just see the difference towards making a smarter planet one need to create smarter people to rule, govern and constitute smarter cities... Where people have no civic sense..we first need to improve the roots..we need a smarter and well developed and concrete base.... So what ever may be their idea..the research should start with an Indian perspective..implement these in indian conditions and stop comparing ourselves with the west.... Improve our own conditions...

In the paper presentation Major Bharath Uday Seth won the best paper award for "Sensor Based Smart Mine Design" now Bharath should implement this in India.. It was a nice attempt made by a soldier to prevent death from hidden land mines...

As the day passed by i went on with my presentation....I interacted with lots of researchers from IBM as well as IISc B'lore, IIM B'lore..with getting both good as well as moderate remarks... As i went to propose an intelligent risk assesment model through neural networks using matlab (contd..)
